E-Security Office project initiated in Azerbaijan


This organization will be a team of rapid response to computer risks, protection of national security of Internet environment.

The Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies of Azerbaijan is working to gather important and objective information with the purpose of information support for public officials in making decisions.

Bakhtiyar Mammadov, head of the MCIT Human Resources & Law Department, says that ICT use spreading requires development and study of the mechanism of action and application of software solutions that ensure information security.

"In this regard, the Ministry has applied to the country’s president Ilham Aliyev with a proposal to establish E-Security Office within the Ministry.

This organization will be a team of rapid response to computer risks, protection of national security of Internet environment, coordinator for e-security of subjects of national systems and networks and providers to inform the public and other organizations.

Besides, the Office will carry out guidance and technical support to state agencies and business community in detecting and preventing cyber attacks against information systems, operating in the country," he emphasized.

According to Mammadov, now the National Security Ministry was conducting round the clock monitoring of the network with following provision of information in e-form as evidence of violations in the computer systems during investigations.
