Rosatom, National Nuclear Research Center discuss joint activities in the field of personnel training


The National Nuclear Research Center CJSC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was represented at the “Atomekspo-2017” Exhibition and Conference, which was held in the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow, with the organizational support of Rosatom.   
 
Chairman of CJSC academician Adil Garibov participated in the international event.
 
According to the National Nuclear Research Center, Director General of Rosatom A.E. Likhachev, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vice President of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), as well as representatives of Turkey, Algeria, the United States and other countries made presentations at the conference.  
 
It was emphasized that the future of the world's main energy industry lies only with Atomic Energy (AE). The participants discussed current problems in AE.  
 
In the course of the exhibition, the Azerbaijani representatives familiarized themselves with the latest achievements of the world's leading companies and held a bilateral meeting with  Rosatom’s leadership.
 
During the meeting, the representatives of Rosatom were informed about the work carried out on the formation of the National Nuclear Research Center. The sides also discussed joint activities in the field of personnel training.
 
Within the framework of the visit, A. Garibov made a presentation at a round table on “Creation and operation of nuclear research reactors”, which was held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna.
  
The Azerbaijani representatives familiarized themselves with the “IBR-2M” reactor of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, analytical work on isotope production and neutron activation carried out in the reactor’s channels, synkhronotron and the work carried out within the international project NICA.  
 
After getting acquainted with the innovations at the Kurchatov Scientific Center (KSC), the Azerbaijani representatives held a bilateral meeting with Deputy Director of KSC and heads of the institutes.
 
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the expediency of preparing the Protocol of Intent on joint research activities in the fields of nuclear research reactors and atomic hydrogen energy.
