Honor 7X launched with 5.93-inch Full View display, dual cameras & IP67 certification

Huawei’s offshoot brand Honor launched the affordable dual-camera phone, aka the Honor 7X, in China on Wednesday. The Honor 7X is successor to the company's much-popular Honor 6X phone and will be available in as many three storage variants: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with all the variants supporting expandable storage of up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. Considering that the Honor 6X and the Honor 5X both made their way to India, we can totally expect Honor to launch the Honor 7X here in the days to come.

Just like the Honor 6X before it, the Honor 7X also comes with a dual camera set-up on the rear. The dual camera setup, in case of the Honor 7X, consists of a 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup assisted with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. While the 16-megapixel lens is what you can a regular lens, the 2-megapixel lens is capable of depth sensing so users can attain software-enhanced background blur in photos post clicking a shot. On the front, the Honor 7X comes with an 8-megapixel camera.

Elsewhere, the phone boasts of a full-metal body and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, much like it was in the case of the Honor 6X. Interestingly, the Honor 7X also comes with 5.93-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full View display with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9 which means much like the recently launched Honor 9i, the Honor 7X is also a near bezel-less phone.

In terms of core hardware, the Honor 7X is powered by a 2.36GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor -- which is a custom chip built by Huawei - coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Nougat-based Emotion UI 5.1 and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The phone also supports 3D surround sound and is IP67-certified for splash resistance. It is further backed by a 3,340 mAh battery with support for Huawei's in-house SuperCharge fast charging technology.

The Honor 7X will go on sale in China on October 17 and will start from CNY 1,300 ($200/€170) for the 32GB version. 64GB is CNY 1,700 ($260/€220) and the top 128GB model is CNY 2,000 ($300/€260). The Honor 7X will be available in as many as three colours: Midnight Black, Platinum Gold, and Aurora Blue.
