Electronic Security Service, Microsoft Azerbaijan sign Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in cybersecurity

The number of cyber incidents is rising dramatically in the world.

The results of monitoring activities and analyses show that malicious software, phishing attacks, hacking of emails and social network accounts, DoS/DDoS attacks are the main threats facing internet users in our country.

In order to resist effectively to these threats through exchanging experience and strengthening cooperation in the field of cyber security, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of cybersecurity was signed between the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Microsoft Azerbaijan.

The Memorandum of Understanding covers issues such as the use of Microsoft's services and technologies in the field of cybersecurity, exchange of knowledge and experience, establishing cooperation in the research area, promoting the use of licensed software in the public sector.

Note that the Electronic Security Service is a coordinating state body that ensures the coordination of activities carried out by information infrastructure subjects in the field of cybersecurity, ensures the country-wide awareness of the existing and emerging electronic threats and raises the cybersecurity awareness of the population and the private sector by rendering them methodological assistance.

The service cooperates closely with such international organizations as FIRST, TI, CERT CC, CAMP and Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG).

“Cyber-attacks not only inflict material damage to organizations and companies, but also have a negative impact on the country's economy.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Electronic Security Service and Microsoft Azerbaijan will play an important role in ensuring the security of Azerbaijan’s cyberspace and developing the sphere of information technologies in the country.

Microsoft has enough experience, solutions and services in the field of cybersecurity. And it is ready to share them with the Electronic Security Service,” Director General of Microsoft Azerbaijan Sarkhan Hashimov said.
