Organizers set venue for next startup tour

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, jointly with the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, continue holding startup tours within the framework of the project "From idea to business".

The goal of the project is to support the expansion of the startup movement and the realization of citizens’ innovative ideas.

The next startup tour will be held in Guba. The event will take place on June 8, 2018 from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Those who wish to take part in startup tours, which are organized by the High-Tech Park, the State Fund for the Development of Information Technologies, and the company "Microsoft" with the partnership of the Public Association of Youth Movement "Javan" and the company "Azercell", are required to register at http://www.i2b.az.

Residents of regions and cities adjoining Guba can also join the startup tour.

The participants of the start-up tour will take part in a one-day trip to Guba. During the trip, they will participate in an informative session, interactive part, competition, and trainings on various topics.

During the first part of the event, small business trainings will be held to prepare startups for the main competition. During the second part of the tour, the participants will present their ideas to the jury.

Then, the selected projects will compete for the championship.

After a presentation, the author of a project will answer questions, and the project will be discussed. At the end of the second part, the jury will announce the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

The winners will gain the right to participate in the National Finals to be held in Baku.

Note that the participants who take 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the National Finals will be awarded by the organizers and partners of the startup tour, and will be able to present their projects to a wide audience within the framework of the 24th International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference – BakuTel.

It should also be noted that startup tours will create a wide range of opportunities for young people living in the regions to develop, discuss and present business projects, as well as to form startup teams and ideas with the help of mentors.

In the future, startup tours will be also held in Sheki, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, and Baku and will cover adjoining regions and cities.

Recall that startup tours have already been held earlier in Mingachevir and Lankaran, and their winners have been announced.
