Volume of incoming international traffic to Azerbaijan increased by 41.5 million minutes


In January-September 2011, the volume of incoming international traffic to Azerbaijan increased by 41.5 million minutes against the respective period of last year to 545 million minutes, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan stated in a report publicized on Wednesday. The Ministry says the volume of outgoing traffic increased by 14.8 million minutes to 133 million minutes.

As compared to the respective period of last year, the outgoing traffic and the incoming traffic increased by 12.5 percent and 8.2 percent, correspondingly.

Over the past period, the number of international telephone channels increased by 1,304 up to 9,145. The throughput capacity of the AZNET segment tripled up to 44.5 gigabytes per second.

In the first half of the year, communications operators, legal entities and physical persons were issued 21 three-digit prefixes for the provision of informational-inquiry and intellectual services, and 51,300 prefixes were issued for the cable telephone network clients, the Ministry reported.

The same number of prefixes were provided for the needs of wireless communications line (except for mobile telephone network), and there were provided 32 national network codes.
