63 years have passed since the establishment of television in Azerbaijan


Today marks 63 years since the establishment of television in Azerbaijan.  
 
Azerbaijan was the first country in the East to start TV broadcasting on February 14, 1956. 
 
Over the past 63 years, a television broadcasting network has been created in Azerbaijan, digital TV broadcast transmitters meeting the latest standards have been commissioned.  
 
The Baku TV Tower Complex, which was commissioned in 1996, is considered the main broadcasting center in the country. The 310-meter-high complex, which has a unique design, broadcasts television programs from Azerbaijan and many foreign countries.
 
At present, TV broadcasting is carried out in Azerbaijan via 102 digital TV transmitters installed in 123 radio and television broadcasting stations of Radio-TV Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, which are   located throughout the country. 99.7 percent of populated areas in Azerbaijan is provided with TV broadcasting.
