Azermarka held a presentation ceremony of postage stamps dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of April fights


Today, Azermarka LLC of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies held an event titled "April fights  - 2016. Lale Tepe", during which a presentation of postage stamps and first day envelopes was held.
 
At the event, 100 first day envelopes were cancelled with a specially prepared commemorative postmark and put up for sale.
 
The postage stamps, prepared on the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and with the active participation of the head of the Public Association "Zafar" Sevinj Orujova, are dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of the military operations that took place on April 1 - 5, 2016 in the occupied territory of Nagorno-Karabakh on the contact line of Azerbaijan and Armenia’s armed forces.
 
The postage stamps were issued in order to perpetuate the memory of officers and soldiers who showed high valor and gave their lives for their homeland during the April fights, which are considered one of the successful operations of the Azerbaijani army in the occupied territories, as well as to inform future generations about their heroism.
 
The postage stamp graphically depicts the Lale Tepe height, the retaking of which is considered the most important achievement of the April military operation, against the background of military camouflage and the Azerbaijani flag on top of the height.
 
The artist of the postage stamps, which were prepared in the form of a small sheet consisting of 8 postage stamps, is Nariman Mamedzade.
 
The postage stamps were printed in an edition of 24,000 copies (3,000 small sheets, each consisting of 8 postage stamps) in the printing house named after A.T. Nepogodina in Bobruisk city, Republic of Belarus.
 
The size of each postage stamp is 40x28 mm, the size of each sheet is 98x130 mm.
