Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with heads of country’s transport agencies


Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev held an online meeting with the heads of transport agencies of the country.
 
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ali Abdullayev, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Javid Gurbanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of  Azerbaijan Highway State Agency Saleh Mammadov, Director General of Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC Taleh Ziyadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC Rauf Veliyev, Vice President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC Eldar Hajiyev, Director of the State Maritime Agency under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Gudrat Gurbanov, Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency  under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Arif Mammadov.
 
During the meeting, they discussed the development of the country’s Unified Transport Strategy, as well as the issues that arise from this.
 
At the same time, the issues of coordinated implementation of projects for the restoration of transport and communication infrastructure in the territories liberated from occupation were discussed.
 
Rashad Nabiyev said that there is a need for a Unified Transport Strategy to increase the efficiency of transport activities, to harmonize the development strategies of sectoral transport agencies with the overall development strategy of the country and to ensure mutual coordination in the activities of transport agencies.
 
The Minister noted that this strategy will ensure the absence of discrepancies in the implementation of projects by transport agencies, the elimination of existing difficulties in coordinating the interaction of transport modes, the efficient use of budget funds and land resources.
 
The meeting participants elaborated on the current state of the country’s transport sector, activities during the pandemic and prospects.
