During the first half of 2012 special measures were implemented in Azerbaijan towards replenishing museum funds, improving museum expositions, consolidating material and technical bases of museums, rendering operative and methodical assistance to museums, considering complaints made by museums and eliminating existing problems in museums.
A special web-site "www.diyarshunasliq.az" dedicated to museums remaining under armenian occupation was created, and a presentation of this web-site was held. The web-site contains materials and photos from memories and private archives of people who worked at these museums.
The virtual network of local history museums was created with the aim of compiling electronic catalog of all objects of cultural and historic heritage, which are located in regions of Azerbaijan, and in this way to acquaint the world with reach culture and history of this country.
This information was provided to ICT by the Press-Service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the information, the ministry is now taking serious measures towards creating a database of tourism objects, including resorts and sanatoriums, which still remain under armenian occupation, analyzing moral and material damages caused by armenian invasion, and informing the world community about consequences of this occupation.
