Mr Gadirov said that the revenue of the Internet sector of Azerbaijan increased 1.2 times in 2011, compared to 2010.
The Azerbaijan Internet market has substantial growth potential and has seen a steady growth in the number of Internet users over recent years.
Mr Gadirov noted that the volume of introducing of the Internet in Azerbaijan reached 65 per cent in 2011, an increase of 30 per cent compared to 2010.
Prices on the internet, in the networks of the state providers AztelekomNet and BakinterNet, decreased by 30 - 50 per cent in 2011. Such a sharp decrease in connection costs are due to lower prices for external feeds (both satellite and terrestrial), cheaper equipment and increasing competition between providers.
Revenue of Azerbaijan Internet market increases in 2011
