New TV station will be built for digital TV
According to the technical director of “Teleradio” Production Association of the Ministry of Communication and IT Mikail Abbasov, a new TV station will be built in Baku in order to raise quality of broadcast of digital TV and expand its coverage . “After commencing of the new TV station number of channels broadcasted in Baku will rise from 12 to 22. At the present time, digital TV broadcasting covers Absheron peninsula, Gyanja, Shirvan, Lerik regions. By the end of the next year it will be broadcasted across the whole territory of our Republic” he said. It should be noted that shift from analogous to digital broadcast started in 2009, while test works for the transition were performed earlier in September of 2004.
