Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch next month


Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been officially confirmed to go official by the end of August this year. During an event in Taiwan, CEO Gao Dongzhen confirmed the launch of the upcoming premium phablet without disclosing a specific date. However, the official word is in line with previous rumors of the smartphone being unveiled on August 23 in New York.
 
As per a PhonesDaily report, Dongzhen also revealed that the Galaxy Note 8 will be released in two phases around the world. In the first phase, the Galaxy Note 8 will be released in early September in select markets of the US, Korea, and the UK. The phablet is expected to be available in other global markets including India during the second phase, expected to commence in October.
 
Ahead of the official launch, the Galaxy Note 8 has leaked on several instances, revealing key specifications and other details. From what we know so far, the phablet it is said to feature a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and will be slightly wider than Galaxy S8 series smartphones. Similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC for the US markets and Exynos 8895 SoC for global regions.
 
Rumors suggest the smartphone will come in two storage variants with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. One of the key highlights of the upcoming phablet is said to be the dual-rear camera setup, possibly the first Samsung smartphone to have so. The dual-camera setup on the back is said to be a pair of 12-megapixel RGB and Monochrome lenses. A 3,300 mAh battery with Quick Charge support is said to be packed within for the phablet to draw juice. From the leaked renders, the Galaxy Note 8 will come in Black, Blue and Gold color options.
