The Canadian start-up created a pocket donut-drone (VIDEO)
When the Canadian engineers Omar Eleryan and Simon Czarnota tried for the first time to pilot a common drone, they were surprised by how big, strong, difficult to control and potentially dangerous that it was. That led them to form Cleo Robotics and develop the Cleo drone in the shape of a donut. The Cleo fits in a pocket, is controlled by a smartphone application and is equipped with an HD video camera.
What really sets it apart from other small drones is the fact that it is not a quadcopter. Instead, it has only two helices that are stacked inside its body with conduits. The grids on the top and bottom protect the fingers of the users of the rotating ccessories, which means that it is possible to reach out and grab the drone while it is flying.
The flight time is 12 to 15 minutes per charge of your battery. The plans require the addition of interior navigation and obstacle avoidance systems. Ultimately, Cleo is expected to find use not only with fans, but also in the security industry.
