Pentagon to develop new anonymous messenger

US authorities have announced a tender for the development of a new anonymous mobile messenger, resistant to cracking. This is stated in the tender documents.

The tender will be conducted by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). According to reports, DARPA has allocated $44 million for the development of the application.   Work on the messenger will begin in March 2019 and will last until 2023.

As noted, the new development was given the name “Resilient Anonymous Communication for Everyone (RACE)”. Messenger will be protected using encryption technology. During the development, it will be tested for the resistance to break-ins.  Message interlocutors within the application are encrypted. The messenger must work within the same network, even if it is closed and not connected to the Internet.
