Azerpost signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Russian Post

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Azerpost LLC and the Russian Post within the framework of Bakutel-2018, the 24th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference.

The purpose of the document is to eliminate problems arising between the sides in the field of postal, financial and electronic services.

For over 2 years, Azerpost has been implementing the international project “HUB” in the field of delivering e-commerce products.  The Russian Post is one of the main partners in the implementation of this project.

As part of this project, a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of international postal services was previously concluded with the Russian Post.

And the purpose of the current memorandum is to take new steps to solve problems arising during international transportation, in accordance with the interests of the postal services of the two countries.

Note that during the first 9 months of 2018, the total weight of mail sent from Azerbaijan to Russia via the Azerpost transit center amounted to 93,485 kg.

Under the memorandum, acceptable tariffs on terminal expenses for simple small packages of the Chinese side that meet the interests of both sides will be formed. The status of terminal expenses for postal services carried out in a simplified form and registered at the Russian Post will be regulated, and steps will be taken to introduce reciprocal tariff discounts provided for international electronic trading packages. Thus, the existing problems will be eliminated through making conditional payment when receiving mail items.
