Software AG makes telecom forecast for 2019
Software AG, one of the world's largest software makers for optimizing business processes and processing big data (Big Data), presented a forecast for the development of the telecommunications industry in 2019.
Software AG believes that operators will have to behave even more actively, since their main competitive advantages - technologies for centralized management of network connections, high quality mobile communications and access to the mobile Internet, wide territorial coverage - are gradually becoming the usual service parameters.
Communication service providers will first of all begin to provide content-related services to customers (receipt, storage and processing of content). This will inevitably require new business models covering new communication and partner channels, the study says.
Experts predict that soon all communication service providers will provide Internet of Things (IoT) platforms in service format (IoT as a Service, IoTaaS), and these platforms can be adapted to the industries in which customers work and their industry needs.
Communication service providers will move away from using private IT architectures, in which they provided services only to their customers through their own networks, and will move to platforms with open architecture and access through standardized application programming interfaces, DailyComm reports.
