The telecommunications infrastructure is being reconstructed in the service area of Absheron telecommunication center, in particular, in the settlements of Saray, Atyali Nubar, Novkhany gardens, the villages of Goradil, Mohammedli, Gobustan, Chayli, Pirekushkul, Lower and Upper Guzdak, Khojhasan residential complex in the settelement of Sulutepe and other villages, as well as new residential areas.
Aztelecom LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies is implementing a number of projects with the aim of developing information and communication technologies in regions, reconstructing and improving infrastructure and meeting the demand for services. Within the framework of these projects, it is planned to introduce high quality and competitive technologies meeting international standards.
At the initial stage, the planned work on the reconstruction of broadband infrastructure and improving the quality of services provided covers a number of regions. At the moment, as part of the project, work in the Absheron region is nearing completion.
In the service area of the telecommunication center, work was completed to install 50 units of ONU equipment (external electronic telephone exchange). 80% of the installed equipment is already in operation. To implement the GPON project, the construction of cable channel systems is underway. A total of about 65,000 meters of fiber optic cables were laid for ONU and GPON projects.
Some 13,000 subscribers of remote distribution cabinets will be provided with services through the newly installed ONU equipment. This, in turn, will significantly improve the quality of the Internet.
Taking into account the demand for telephone communications in the central and new residential areas of Absheron district, the GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) project has been developed. As part of the project, optical distribution cabinets were installed in Mehtiabad village for newly built courtyard houses and fiber-optic cables with a length of 8000 meters of various capacities were laid for an internal network for 600 communication subscribers. At the present time, Internet and telephone services are being provided to citizens.
At the early stage, the installation of new equipment is carried out in areas where there is a remarkable growth in the demand for services. Thus, by installing one optical distribution cabinet on Heydar Aliyev avenue in Khirdalan city and laying an internal cable network in 1 May residential area (courtyard houses) and new many-storied residential buildings, about 3000 apartments will be provided with services.
With the view of expanding the coverage of the service area and further improving the provision of high quality services, Aztelecom LLC continues consistent work on the introduction of new technologies in regions.
