As part of these activities the ministry has prepared and presented to the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan a list of e-services rendered by MCT to the population of the republic.
MCT has launched a special "e-Services" section on its official web-site in order to provide informative and interactive services to citizens. This information was provided to ICTnews by the Press-Service of MCT. According to it, during the first quarter of the current year, MCT modernized its computer network system by installing a new program software on computers.
Certain activities were implemented under Clouse 7.2.2.1 of the "State Program on the development of communication and information technologies in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2010-2012" approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s order of April 11, 2010. As part of these activities, websites of the libraries belonging to the ministry were interconnected by a single domain name (libnet.az, libraries.az, cls.az), all information at these web-sites was placed in one server, security and continuity of internet connection was insured, document circulation was digitalized, all equipment were put in working order and protection of computers against external interference was strengthened.
In line with the President of Azerbaijan’s decree "On some measures in the field of rendering of e-services by state agencies" the official web-page of the ministry was upgraded and relevant documents were prepared to provide employees of the ministry with e-signatures.
Besides that a Data Centre was created at the ministry, and the ministry was connected to EHDIS portal. Within these activities, security and protection of all computer systems (147 number telephone information system, system of registration of incoming documents, applications, complaints and proposals, films registration program, system of registration of objects of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, historical monuments registration program, business trips control and registration program, inventory program, single electronic catalog of art works kept in the State Arts Gallery), which were introduced in the ministry during the reporting period were insured.
At the same time, the ministry improved its tourism information navigation system, updated its electronic map, and integrated it into "Eurorovision-2012" web-site. During the reporting period, employees of the ministry took an active part in numerous ICT-related conferences, seminars and activities in order to acquaint themselves with advanced practices and technologies.
MCT strengthens protection of its computers against external interference
