Communication services account for 1.7 percent of GNP. This information was provided to “ICTnews” online news service by the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the reporting period, the information and communication sector provided the population, companies and organizations with services in the amount of 1019.3 million manats, which is 16.7 percent more than in the same period of last year. 72.3 percent of information and communication services were rendered to the population. 74.8 percent of all revenues earned in the ICT sphere fall on the private sector.
The average salary in the information and communication sector constituted 618.7 manats in the reporting period. At the same time, non-food products in the amount of 971.9 thousand manats and food products in the amount of 58.7 thousand manats were sold to customers via e-trade during January-September of 2012.

During January-September of 2012 a 1,1% growth was observed in the production of Gross National Product (GNP) `compared to the same period of previous year (GNP increased by AZN 435.1 million manats to reach 39.8 billion mantas).Communication services account for 1.7 percent of GNP.
