During 6 months of the current year 1.8 million manats have been spent on modernization of the telephone network and introduction of new technologies. As a result of this spending, EATS with total capacity of 1,040 numbers and 3,145 subscriber lines in Sumgait and 18 regions have been built. Construction of 51 km long Lankaran-Lerik fiber-optical cable line was completed, and the central ATS of Lerik region was directly connected to TAE line. 21 villages of 14 regions have been connected to fiber-optical lines, and construction of Masalli-Yardimli fiber-optical cable line has started. During the reporting period in majority of regions of Azerbaijan Republic ATS equipment , which had undergone physical and moral depreciation, was replaced with new one. In the same period of the past year digitalization of the country, Baku city and the other regions made up 92.1%, 95.3%, 88.8% respectively. Azerbaijan became the first state among CIS countries to complete the process of digitization. Let’s note that the average rate for digitization of the world network comes to 50%.
