TV companies to use Azerspace satellite resources
Local TV companies will use the resources of Azerspace, Azerkosmos.The issue of integrating local TV companies with the most advanced satellite technologies is already on the agenda.
About 20 percent of the satellite resources will be used to meet Azerbaijan's needs in satellite communication systems. The rest part will be implemented. The satellite resources all over the Republic will be used to render digital TV and radio broadcasting services, Internet access, data transmission, to create multi-service networks VSAT, and governmental communication.
Azerkosmos is talking with major wholesalers and others on the lease of the national telecommunication satellite Azerspace.
The satellite program is commercial in nature, and today 40 percent of Azerspace resources are implemented on the basis of rental agreement of the Malaysian company Measat Satellite Systems. The term of using satellite resources by the Malaysian company is not limited.
The company is negotiating about the possibility of implementing the rest part of Azerspace's resource capacity.
