Azerigaz informs subscribers on usage of ‘smart-card’ type gas meters
Most of the applications received by Azerigaz Production Unit though its “185” hot line were about coding of meters. In this connection, Azerigaz decided to provide its subscribers with information about the usage of gas meters. This information was provided to ICTnews by Azerigaz PU.
According to Azerigaz, in case of casual handling with “Smart-Card” type gas meters, leaking of the gas line, excessive consumption of gas by the household, making additional connections to the gas line, tampering with the gas meter its valve will automatically shut down, the gas meter will immediately stop its operation, and information about this will be sent to the base. In such case, the subscriber will need to use a special service card to bring the meter back into operation. Service cards are available in gas service areas.
In order to put the meter back into operation the subscriber will have to call “104” or the local gas service area, and tell them about the problem. Upon receiving the call, employees of the gas service area will come to the subscriber’s place and fix the problem within the shortest period of time.
