Industrial park to be created at Qafqaz University in Azerbaijan
The Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, the Rector of Qafqaz University Ahmad Sanich and the Deputy Director of the Industrial Park of Orta Dogu Technical University Ufuk Bulut have met to discuss the issue of creation of an industrial park at Qafqaz University with support of Orta Doglu Technical University. This information was provided to ICTnews by the Ministry of Education.
According to the ministry, the meeting highlighted the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in all spheres, including education. During the meeting M.Mardanov said that the creation of an industrial park at Qafqaz University will give new impetus to the development of higher education in Azerbaijan.
In his turn, the Rector of Qafqaz University Ahmad Sanich said that the university was using Sumgait industrial park within the cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development. He said that Qafkaz Univesity might have its own industrial park, which can be constructed by using experience of Orta Doglu Technical University.
The Deputy Director of the Industrial Park of Orta Dogu Technical University Ufuk Bulut said that the rapid and wide-scope industrialization, which took place in Turkey in the second half of last century, resulted in bringing of operation of institutions of higher education in line with the production process. He also said that application of results of research activities, which are conducted by higher education institutions, in different production areas is very important for training of qualified specialists.
M. Mardanov said that he was confident that this initiative would be very successful for Azerbaijan. “Industrial parks will help institutions of higher education to accumulate necessary financial recourses and increase the efficiency of research activities”, he added.
