Final tests of mobile device registration system started
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan has begun the final tests of the mobile device registration system. The Mobile Device Registration Centre was created in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s order No: 212 dated December 28,2011.
The centre is responsible for entering information for technical identification of mobile devices, which have been connected to Azerbaijan’s telecommunication network, into the single database, according to the established procedure.
After successful completion of the final tests, the mobile device identification system will begin to operate with maximum performance and will identify IMEI numbers of the unregistered, stolen and cloned mobile devises that are operating on the telecommunication network.
All illicit mobile devises will be disconnected from the network. It should be noted that after connecting to this system, mobile telecommunication operators will provide their subscribers with a real-time information exchange option.
