Digital signature certificates to be delivered to applicants’ addresses

In October 2012 the Data-Calculating Centre of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan began implementing a new “e-Application” service in order to simplify the process of obtaining digital signature certificates.

The new service was introduced with the purpose of reducing time that citizens spend on getting a digital signature. Given legal entities and physical persons’ growing need for digital signatures, appropriate measures were implemented towards easing the process of obtaining digital signatures.

A new software program called “e-Application” was prepared and put into operation to this end. With the help of this program legal entities and physical persons can make an electronic application for a digital signature. Upon receiving the application, the e-signature certificate is prepared and sent to the legal entity or physical person who ordered it.

The demand for e-signatures increases with the expansion of application of e-services and the digitalization of state-citizens relations. The program automatically prepares electronic forms of contracts, applications, orders and other relevant documents. The applicant only needs to put a signature and a stamp on the document and to send it to the Data-Calculating Centre.

In addition to that, the applicant can make an online payment for a digital signature. Physical persons will be able to use the new electronic service in cities and regional centers.

A digital signature will be delivered to the applicant’s address. So the applicant must pay a fee for the delivery of a digital signature. Note that physical persons and legal entities may use this service through www.e-imza and www.e-gov.az internet links, and state agencies may use this service via the uniport.
