Micro-SD cards carrying mobile signature authentication certificates to be introduced in Azerbaijan soon
The Data-Calculating Centre of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan will soon introduce micro-SD cards bearing a mobile signature authentication certificate for users of smartphones and tablet computers.
According to information provided to “ICTnews” online news service by the Data-Calculating Centre (DCC), owners of smartphones and tablet computers are now downloading certificates, which are used for authentication of mobile signatures, into their devices at the special certification center. “These certificates can be used for carrying out banking operations and a number of other operations.
Yet, they cannot be used for signing official documents requiring entry of IP-codes to confirm the user’s ID. Within the next 2 months we will introduce micro-SD cards for users. We are now conducting a monitoring of the international market in order to provide the local market with micro-SD cards.
Upon completion of the monitoring activities we will start providing users with Sim-cards bearing electronic signature. Consequently, users will be able to sing official documents using both micro-SD cards and Sim-cards bearing e-signature,” the information says.
