Vonage launches international calling app for iPhone
Vonage Holdings Corp. launched a downloadable application for iPhone users that offers a way to make international phone calls while paying through Apple Inc.'s iTunes music service.
The app, named Time to Call, offers calls of up to 15 minutes and to more than 190 countries. In launching the new app, Vonage said users will be attracted by the low cost of the service versus international rates offered by calling cards and mobile carriers. "With the launch of Time to Call, Vonage has simplified the process of making affordable international calls for iPhone users around the globe," said Chief Executive Marc Lefar. Fifteen-minute calls to 100 countries range from $0.99 to $1.99. More than 90 additional countries can be called for flat rates ranging up to $9.99.
