The IT sector of Azerbaijan has grown five times over the last six months.
The remarks came from Deputy Communication and Information Technology Minister of Azerbaijan Elmir Valizade. The annual growth of IT sector totaled 30%-32% on average, the deputy minister said.
"The ICT sector did not experience decline even during the global financial crisis. On the contrary, it kept the momentum of previous years and grew by 13.7% in 2009 and 32% in 2010," Velizade added.
“The outcomes of the first half of 2011 enable to make forecast.” “The ICT sector of Azerbaijan grew by 15.8% over six months this year over the equivalent period last year, telecommunication sector grew 10.6% and IT sector grew two times,” Valizade noted.
