NZ Telecom announces new executive team for new company if spinoff approved
Telecom Corp. of New Zealand Ltd. infrastructure unit Chorus announced its new executive team if a spinoff of the unit is approved by shareholders later this year.
The separation of Chorus is part of the requirements laid down by the New Zealand government when it awarded Telecom a deal to build the majority of the new nationwide NZ$3 billion fiber network. Under the plan, Chorus will build the network.
Brian Hall has been appointed as financial controller; Ed Beattie will be general manager of property and network operations; Chris Dyhrberg will be general manager of network build.
The company had previously announced Mark Ratcliffe would be chief executive if the company is spun off. The company has previously said that it aims to demerge Chorus by the end of 2011.
