Non-contact cardiograph developed in Japan

Panasonic jointly with Kyoto University have created a device that allows physicians to assess the condition of the patient's heart using the non-contact method.

According to developers, the new technology can replace standard electrocardiogram because it provides equally accurate results of measurement.

The main advantage of the new method is that measurements can be carried out remotely without attaching sensors to the patient. He can engage in daily activities, while the system would carry out “everyday observations”, capture the reaction of the body in different situations, which, in turn, can help in the selection of an individual treatment regimen.

The prototype device is about 50 cm in length, but the developers plan to decrease its size in future.
