Scientists develop wheelchair operated by power of thought
Russian scientists have developed a robotic chair with an automatic life-support system for people with disabilities. Robotic complex can be used for the rehabilitation of people with severe diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Thus, a man sits down on the wheelchair and puts on a helmet with special sensors, which read out signals coming from the brain cortex. And this sets the chair into motion. That is, if the man wants to go to the right, the device will execute the command without question. It turns out that the person actually controls the chair through the power of thought.
According to scientists, one of the main advantages of the invention is the ability to prevent the collision of the wheelchair with other objects such as a wall. That is, it can even be operated by completely paralyzed persons.
