Azerbaijani delegation attending ITU Council session in Geneva
Next session of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has kicked off in Geneva (Switzerland).
A delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade is attending the session.
The organization of activities of the body for the coming year, the implementation status of the decisions taken thus far in the field of telecommunications, as well as prospects for the development of strategies meeting modern trends will be discussed and decisions will be adopted at the session of the Council - the ITU governing body, which will run until June 2.
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Vagif Sadigov.
Note that only 48 members of 193 member states of the organization (including Azerbaijan) are the members of the ITU Council.
