USB-tokens facilitated the use of electronic signatures
The National Certification Services Centre of the Data Processing Centre of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies has started providing citizens with a new type of certificate carriers - USB tokens. USB tokens are used for the identification of users and ensuring their information security. They also create conditions for the convenient use of electronic services by citizens. USB tokens are valid for 3 years.
Note that USB-tokens replace electronic signatures and eliminate the need for readers. Previously, the user had to obtain a card and a reader to use an electronic signature. That is, the citizen had to pay 18 AZN for an electronic signature and additional 13 AZN for a reader. And now, after paying only 18 AZN for a USB-token, the citizen can start using all the functions of an electronic signature.
USB-tokens are easy and safe to use. The required software is pre-installed in the USB-token. It automatically downloads to the user's device during the initial use of the USB-token. USB-tokens, which are easy to carry about, can also be used as electronic identity cards. Using a USB-token attached to his mobile device or computer, a customer or entrepreneur can easily complete customs and tax declarations or perform bank transactions.
USB-tokens can be considered unique carriers of authentication data and electronic signature certificate data on citizens, employees of government agencies, businesses and individuals. Presently, USB-tokens can be obtained at the registration centres of the National Certification Services Centre or ordered online.
Note that that starting from 2012, electronic signatures have been widely used in the sphere of state administration. Today, electronic signatures are used not only as a means of signing documents, but also as a key for access to the E-government portal and a number of information systems.
