Residents of Mingachevir city were provided with detailed information on the E-government portal


A workshop on “The rules for using the E-government portal and most commonly used e-services” was held on March 30 for the residents of Mingachevir city.

The event was organized as part of “The Program for Promotion of Human Rights, Democratization and Good Governance in Azerbaijan”, which is being implemented by Eurasia Partnership Foundation with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of the Netherlands. 

The purpose of the workshop, which was conducted by experts from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, and the Regional Human Rights and Media Center Social Union, was to provide citizens living in the regions with information on the e-government infrastructure, e-services, e-signature mechanism, and electronic document circulation, as well as to promote the wider application of information and communication technologies in different social service sectors.      

Opening the workshop, Khalid Kazimov, an expert from the Regional Human Rights and Media Center Social Union, spoke about the irreplaceable role of electronic services, convenience of their use, and the role of the E-government portal, which accumulates electronic services of state agencies in one space, in the Internet environment.   

Then, experts from the Data Processing Centre of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Gunay Huseynova and Elvin Jafarli told the gathering about official documents relating to the application of ICT in different service areas, the legislative base of the E-government portal, and the stages of creation and development of the portal.  

After that, the workshop participants were provided with practical information on using the E-government portal (www.e-gov.az).

Thus, they were shown how to use the tools for accessing the portal, service groups and most commonly used e-services, as well as how to use “Online Consultation”, “Feedback” and “My Services” options, which make it easier for citizens to use the portal.       

The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and discussions.
At the end of the workshop, active participants were given a user name and password to access the E-government portal.
