Azerbaijan represented at joint session of RCC Administrations’ Heads and CIS Coordination Council for Informatization
The 52nd joint session of the Board of the Heads of Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) and the 23rd session of the CIS Coordination Council for Informatization attached to the RCC are taking place in Minsk, Belarus on April 18-19.
Heads of Communications Administrations of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Latvia, as well as heads of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Universal Postal Union (UPU), the RCC and Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications are attending the event.
Azerbaijan is being represented at the meeting by a delegation led by Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade.
Important decisions regarding the future activities of the RCC were adopted on the first day of the meeting where about 30 topical issues were discussed.
Minister Ramin Guluzade commented on the issues on the agenda of the meeting and noted that the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications is an example of an effective regional organization.
The Minister said the issues discussed and decisions adopted at the meeting would contribute to the sustainable development of the ICT sector and information society, as well as strengthening of business cooperation.
At the same time, Minister Ramin Guluzade informed the attendees on the establishment of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan by merging the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated 13 February 2017.
Ramin Guluzade said that Azerbaijan would continue its successful cooperation in all areas of activity of the RCC in the future.
On the sidelines of the event, the Minister held bilateral meetings with the heads of communications administrations of several RCC member countries.
