Asus released the slimmest gaming laptop
The Zephyrus is a collaboration between the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card with Max-Q design, resulting in a powerful portable computer to game on the go. The biggest divergence from prior gaming laptops, such as the Acer Aspire VX 15, is the size of the Zephyrus. Spanning 0.65 inches, it’s smaller than any of its peers.
The default operating system of the laptop is Windows 10 Home, although Asus recommends you install Windows 10 Home Pro. A capable machine in terms of specs, the Zephyrus is composed of an Intel i7-7700HQ CPU, a 256GB hard drive, and a 15.6-inch screen rendering 120 frames per second. The NVIDIA chip ensures your gaming experience will be seamless.
However, its power does come at the expense of its battery life which, predictably, is dreadful. You’ll need to get in the habit of bringing your charger with you.
Another advancement made for this computer is its cooling system. Asus proudly explains how the Zephyrus benefits from an increase in air circulation which cuts the temperature of the device by 20 percent. Furthermore, the design allows the fans to spin slower, meaning there will be less background noise to ruin the immersion as you play.
In terms of compatible devices pertinent to gaming, you can stream from your Xbox One, and VR headsets will work with the Zephyrus.
The ROG Zephyrus, sadly, isn’t aesthetically appealing. Its keyboard, which rests an awkward distance from the screen, has a backlit glow. However, via the laptop’s Aura RGB feature, you can choose the coloration. A palm rest has been omitted entirely, hence the space between the display and the buttons. The keys themselves are anticipated to offer 1.4mm of travel with “an expected lifetime of 20 million presses.”
The Asus ROG Zephyrus is, in all probability, the strongest laptop to exist within its weight class.
