Unmanned air taxi to be launched in Dubai
An unmanned air taxi will be launched in Dubai in the near future, reports TASS news agency.
"An unusual type of transport -unmanned air taxi will be launched in the near future in Dubai. The ambitious project has been presented at the 6th World Government Summit dedicated to efficient state governance and introduction of modern technologies in different fields of life," the message said.
The arrangement taking place in Madinat Jumeirah involves over 4000 delegates from 140 states, including the heads of international organizations, representatives of leading scientific-technical structures and technological corporations. The project was initiated by the agency of roads and transport of Dubai in cooperation with German Volocopter.
"The air taxi will meet high security and reliability standards. It will be driven by an autopilot based on the system of programming of special routes with GPS navigator. The traffic will be controlled by the land operator," said the agency.
"The air taxi is electric and clear type of transport. The maximum trip time will be below 30 minutes, maximum speed- 100 km.h. The maximum height of flight will make 2000 m," said the presentation materials.
