Azerspace-2 satellite launched into orbit from Kourou cosmodrome
Azerbaijan’s Azerspace-2 satellite was launched into orbit from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana.
It was launched aboard the Ariane 5 carrier rocket of the company Arianespace.
This was the 100th anniversary launch of the Ariane 5 carrier rocket.
The rocket is carrying two telecommunication satellites – Azerspace-2 and Horizons 3e – on its deck. The second one belongs to Japan.
The Azerspace-2 satellite will be put in the orbital position of 45 degrees east longitude and will cover the countries of Europe, South-West Asia, Middle East and Africa.
