Azerbaijan changed DNS cryptographic keys successfully
According to the requirements and recommendations of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), on October 11, cryptographic keys that serve as protection for the Domain Name System (DNS) were also changed in our country, as in the whole world. This technical operation was carried out successfully. The process did not affect service providers and regular users in the country.
According to the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the system was monitored continuously for 48 hours after the upgrade and no problems with user access to resources were recorded.
The cryptographic keys were created in 2010. The keys ensure the security and integrity of the internet addressing system. Despite the fact that the keys had to be changed every 5 years, this process was postponed several times as the providers in several countries were not ready. This operation was performed on October 11 for the first time in the world.
According to ICANN, during the first 24 hours after the key updating, some countries experienced minor problems, but they were remedied in a short time.
