Chrome share falls below 70%
The share of Chrome in the global PC browser market has fallen below 70%, according to StatCounter, which studied more than 15 billion webpage views on 3 million websites.
By the end of March 2019, Chrome had been installed on 69.52% of desktops and laptops used to access the Internet, against 71.58% a month earlier. The share of the browser for the first time reached a record 72.38% in November 2018.
Firefox ranked second in the ranking of the most popular web browsers with a score of 9.58% at the end of March 2019, and Safari closed the top three (6.46%).
Microsoft Edge accounted for 4.56% of the global browser market. Microsoft is unhappy with product performance and is now going to radically rework it. Instead of the original EdgeHTML engine, it was decided to use Chromium, Dailycomm.ru reports.
