Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro: frameless screens, capacious batteries, NFC and price from $200
As part of the global online presentation, Xiaomi presented the international version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which was released earlier in China, and the brand new Redmi Note 9. In comparison with their predecessors, they received a completely updated design and improved features. In addition, both devices are equipped with NFC.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 6.67-inch display with thin frames and a small cutout for the front camera in the center. The front and back are covered with Gorilla Glass 5 tempered glass. The Fingerprint Scanner is built into the power button. The manufacturer decided to leave not only the IR port used for controlling household appliances but also the traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The smartphone is equipped with a Quad camera with a 64 MP main module, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle with a viewing angle of 119 degrees, a macro lens, and a depth sensor for portrait images with a blurred background. The resolution of the front camera is 16 MP.
Separately, the manufacturer noted a greatly improved vibration, which uses a new vibration motor, and the presence of an NFC module for contactless payment of purchases using a smartphone.
The Redmi Note 9 model is made in a similar design to the Pro version but has a number of important differences. So, the screen size is 6.53 inches diagonally, and the hole for the front camera is located in the corner. The fingerprint scanner was placed at the back, under the quad-camera module with a resolution of 48 MP.
Redmi Note 9 received a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. Xiaomi says that in comparison with Redmi Note 8, where Snapdragon 665 is installed, performance increased by 21%. Although this model is smaller than the Pro version, it has the same 5020 mAh battery inside, providing up to two days of battery life. The NFC module is also available in this device.
Redmi Note 9 will be available in versions 3 + 64 GB and 4 + 128 GB at a price of $199 and $249, respectively. Both new items will go on sale in mid-May.
