An online B2G Forum held
The Caspian European Club has organized an online B2G Forum.
The Forum, took place under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade, was attended by representatives of government agencies and commercial companies engaged in the field of information and communication technologies and transport in Azerbaijan.
The Forum discussed the problems of companies affected by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Information was also provided on government support measures to minimize the negative impact of the pandemic on the ICT and transport sectors.
In his speech, Elmir Velizade noted that the country’s leadership has set a task of turning Azerbaijan into a regional transport hub.
The Deputy Minister also stressed that during this period, AzInTelecom LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the first time in the country launched the service “video conferencing as a service” (VCaaS) based on its Azcloud cloud infrastructure: “From now on, any company or organization, regardless of distance, can achieve a high level of activity by conducting continuous video conferences at both global and national levels. Thanks to the technical and technological support of AzInTelecom, a clear system configuration and ensuring high-quality communication, direct video communications are established in international video conferences on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and meetings are held on the basis of cloud technologies.” According to him, the role of the ICT sector in the country’s economy in Azerbaijan is very important in any situation, as well as during a pandemic.
Speaking about the transit potential and infrastructure of our country, the Deputy Minister noted that the existing infrastructure allows local and foreign transport and logistics companies to carry out cargo transportation in all directions. Then, Elmir Velizade responded to the questions addressed to him.
The event was also attended by head of the Transport Policy Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Azer Aliyev, deputy head of the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry Ibrahim Aliyev, top managers of public and private companies representing various sectors of the economy.
Chairman of the Caspian European Club Telman Aliyev, on behalf of the top managers of the club’s member companies, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies for the open discussions.
It should be noted that the B2G Forum, created by the Caspian European Club, serves as a unique platform for international business networking. These forums provide an opportunity to establish new business contacts with company leaders from different sectors of the economy of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, as well as other countries of the Caspian-Black Sea and Baltic regions. B2G Forums are held online every week starting April 22. The goal is to improve the investment and business environment in Azerbaijan and other countries where the Caspian European Club operates, as well as stimulate dialogue in B2G, B2B and B2C formats and ensure the active participation of representatives of the public and private sectors in these events.
