Azerbaijan and Iran in joint airspace control agreement
Azerbaijan and Iran are working on a new project to provide regulation against intrusion of air space, the Minister of Connection and Informative Technologies Ali Abbasov told journalists on Monday. He added that technical specialists will be involved in this process.
A visit of a delegation led by the head of the socio-political department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov was completed on Monday. The issue of mutual broadcasting was also discussed.
"We discussed two issues of air space invasion with neighbouring countries including Iran It is a technical issue and much of the work has already been carried out to ensure the security of Azerbaijan air space." Mr Abbasov said.
He noted that the invasion to the Azerbaijan air space from Iran is implemented in certain areas. In the framework of mutual agreements between the countries technical measures have been taken to prevent invasion of air space.
"Technical protocols on broadcasting issues have also been signed and the Iranian side will try to follow them," Mr Abbasov said. "It has been necessary to sign new protocols because we saw the possibilities of air space violation in these older documents."
