Nokia 1.4 leaked to come with low-end specifications, entry-level price
Nokia 1.4 hit the rumour mill last year suggesting HMD Global is not giving up on the entry-level market, even though its flagship offerings are in jeopardy right now. The Nokia 1.4 is expected to be the successor to the Nokia 1.3 that launched last year in select markets. There has not been much available about the Nokia 1.4 until now. A report has given away pretty much everything about the Nokia 1.4, including its price and its specifications. The Nokia 1.4 is going to be a cheap stock Android device with basic specifications.
According to a MySmartPrice report, the entry-level Nokia 1.4 will come with a large 6.51-inch LCD with 720p resolution. It is the standard resolution now for entry-level devices in the Android market. The Nokia 1.4 will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Now, the name of the processor is unclear but it could be a Qualcomm chipset meant for low-end phones. The Nokia 1.3 runs the Qualcomm QM215 processor inside. It may also be a Unisoc processor since HMD Global uses them on the Nokia C-series. It is not clear at the moment.
The report further mentions that Nokia 1.4 will have 1GB of RAM, which means it will have Android Go. The specifications list shows there will be Android 10 on this phone, so guess it is going to be Android 10 (Go edition) on the Nokia 1.4. There will be 16GB internal storage, which seems so less for a 2021 phone but HMD is giving microSD card support for up to 128GB storage. There will be 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth 4.2 on the phone for wireless connectivity. And the Nokia 1.4 will come with a 4000mAh battery without support for any fancy fast charging technology.
The optics on the Nokia 1.4 are also going to be essentially basic. There will be a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of an 8MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. These sensors will be assisted by an LED flash module. For selfies, there will be a 5MP camera on the front. Now, it is not clear where this sensor will find a home on the phone. Previous-generation Nokia 1.3 has the camera inside the waterdrop-style notch, so maybe the same setup is expected. The Nokia 1.4 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a MicroUSB 2.0 port but their location is not confirmed.
The report further says there will be a fingerprint sensor on the Nokia 1.4. But it remains to be seen where this sensor will be located. It could either be on the backside of the Nokia 1.4 or mounted on the power button on the side. The chances for the latter seem slim and the in-display fingerprint sensor is out of the question. The Nokia 1.4 will also have a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, and an ambient light sensor. The first one will turn off display light when you move the phone near your ear during calls. The second one detects the orientation of the phone if it is in portrait or landscape, and the third one identifies the light around you to provide optimum screen brightness.
The Nokia 1.4 is said to measure 166.2x76.2x 8.70mm and come in Blue and Grey colours. Finally, the report has suggested the Nokia 1.4 will cost under EUR 100 (roughly Rs 8,840). The Nokia 1.3 was not launched in India, so maybe Nokia 1.4 may also skip hitting the Indian shelves.
