TCL unveils 85” X12 8K Mini LED Starlight Smart Screen Panel
TCL, known for its low-cost TVs and phones under the BlackBerry and Alcatel brands, has unveiled a flagship smart TV dubbed the X12 8K Mini LED Starlight Smart Screen.
As the name implies, the device implements the Mini LED system, which uses an array of microscopic LEDs. Such illumination allows realizing the technology of local dimming due to the division into zones with independent adjustment.
In the new TV, 96,000 LEDs are used, and the number of adjustment zones reaches 1920. As a result, it is possible to display bright highlights and deep blacks at the same time.
The diagonal of the novelty is 85 inches. We are talking about 157% coverage of the BT.709 color space. The brightness reaches 2000 cd / m 2, the contrast – 10,000,000: 1.
In addition to high image quality, the new product provides excellent sound quality. There is an Onkyo 5.1.2 Hi-Fi audio system with eight channels for cinema-grade sound.
Finally, a 48-megapixel 3D ToF camera is included in the panel, allowing highly accurate control gestures recognition.
On the timing of the start of sales of TCL X12, 8K Mini LED Starlight Smart Screen; nothing has been reported. But the estimated price is known – about 15,000 US dollars.
