Azerpost LLC and Azexport.az sign Memorandum of Understanding
An electronic Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Azerpost LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Internet portal Azexport.az, which is operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between government agencies using the electronic signature certificate of the Data Processing Center is one of the first examples for our country. Before the signing ceremony, the parties discussed the work done and the prospects for joint activities.
Deputy General Director of Azerpost LLC Khayyam Alizade said that the signing of a memorandum on new technologies is of great importance for Azerpost LLC. This project will open up new opportunities. It will facilitate the exchange of international and domestic mail, as well as further expansion of cashless payments between individual entrepreneurs in the country. He noted that foreign cardholders will also be able to purchase Azerbaijani products using the e-commerce portal of Azerpost LLC. This will give further impetus to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as electronic payments in our country.
The head of Internet portal Azexport.az Aykhan Gadashov noted that the signing of the memorandum between the agencies is of great importance in the implementation of local and foreign orders received by Internet portal Azexport.az. Thus, the organization of trainings using the postal and financial services of Azerpost LLC, as well as with the participation of local and foreign experts, will have a positive impact on the growth of e-commerce. He also noted that the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic have resulted in the deepening of digitalization, and the Memorandum of Understanding currently signed using e-signature is a manifestation of this.
Then Director of Business Development and Marketing Department of Azerpost LLC Anar Majidov and Head of the Marketing and Sales Department of Data Processing Center Jeyhun Mammadov made proposals to expand the existing areas of cooperation.
In conclusion, an electronic Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Internet portal Azexport.az and Azerpost LLC with the view of increasing exports of non-oil products in B2B, B2C and C2C segments in Azerbaijan, stimulating cashless payments and e-commerce skills between individual entrepreneurs and startups.
