Buses are controlled by GPS system in Baku
With introduction of The Intellectual Transport Management System in Baku special monitors were installed in passenger buses. According to the Ministry of Transportation, the monitors, after being modernized by Azerbaijani specialists and patented under name of “Azeri”, were installed in 2096 buses.
The monitors maintain a direct connection between a bus driver and The Intellectual Transport Management System as well as send sound or text information from the center to a driver.
Bus drivers, in their turn, can send text information about an accident, failure and etc. Besides, the bus driver enters his ID code and fingerprints into the monitors, which establish connection with the data base and check information about the driver.
The driver can operate the vehicle only after the information has been confirmed. The driver can also control time and space intervals via this new equipment.
The GPR system was also incorporated into the monitors. The system informs the center on location of the bus, its deviation from the fixed route and other violations. It also insures full control by the center of all movements of buses.
