Telecom Corp. of New Zealand has seen its market share slide to 52.7% from 61.3% over six years to June 30, 2011, Fairfax-owned news website Stuff reports Wednesday, citing a report from New Zealand regulator the Commerce Commission.

It reports that Telecom Retail Chief Executive Alan Gourdie said the company's performance stacked up well compared with other incumbent telecommunications companies that have seen competitors move into their markets.
