Azerbaijan develops platform for issuing e-signatures

The Ministry of Communications and IT of Azerbaijan is working to develop a platform of issuing e-signatures by using mobile technology, the deputy Minister of Communications and IT Iltimas Mammadov informed media. He said that the new platform will be put into operation by late 2012. Besides simplifying the e- signature issue procedures, it will also increase the number of users of the electronic government's portal.

The functions of the portal are not limited to a specific number of services. The number of e-services presented on the portal can reach several thousand units. Currently, some state agency electronic services are rendered via the 'single window' principle. The e-government portal is a key tool supporting the work with the public and enterprises in the public and private sectors. The portal is intended to reduce the number of the citizens' documents because different agencies can now communicate with each other electronically. The e- signature is required for using e-services.
